Abstract:

The paper studies the GPS satellite communication system and the features of the influence of the Earths ionosphere on the propagation of satellite radio waves. Factors that can degrade the GPS signal and thus affect their accuracy and reliability are considered. The article also studied the value of the Faraday rotation, which indicates a gradual rotation of the plane of polarization of a linearly polarized wave when crossing the ionosphere under the influence of the geomagnetic field and plasma. One of the main methods for improving the accuracy of determining the location of an object and eliminating errors, based on the application of the principle of differential navigation measurements, is presented.
